Hypnotic cities
We just can’t get enough of Jozi. After a successful stint at the Turbine Art Fair this past July, we’re ready for round two and will be exhibiting at the FNB Joburg Art Fair this September. This is a must-attend event for art-lovers in the buzzing metropolis.
In keeping with urban jungles and fantastic cities, our featured print this month is by artist and illustrator Jean de Wet. De Wet is no stranger to Black River Studio, and has created some incredible screen prints in our workshop. Vestibule Ruins is his first artwork for the 50ty/50ty platform.
De Wet’s original print, along with 21 additional screen prints, will be on show at our stand at this year’s FNB Joburg Art Fair. This means that Joburgers have the rare opportunity of viewing our limited edition artist prints in the flesh, in vivid colour – not to mention the convenience of buying work then and there.
This art fair is now in its tenth year, and offers the public the largest showing of contemporary African art under one roof. We hope to see you there!
